Thank you so much for volunteering to be a satellite location! It is people like you that make Tunes 4 the Troops so successful. Since 2005 we have sent almost 1,000,000 items overseas valued at over 15 million dollars!!!
In your shipment overseas please make sure that each box you send has approximately 150 items. For example, 30 dvds and 120 cds of a good variety as for the box is for the unit to share.
The cheapest way to mail the CDs and DVDs overseas is media mail at the USPS. For instance, a box of 150 items will cost about $15.00. You may think that the flat rate boxes are cheaper, but I promise you IT IS NOT. You are more than welcome to collect donations from your community to help pay for the shipping cost. Many times businesses who support the troops will volunteer to help pay.
Please feel free to use the Tunes 4 the Troops logo in any positive way that might help your collection. Radio interviews are helpful as well as newspaper articles to help get the word out.
You will also need to fill out a custom form to go with your box. You need this because the items are being sent overseas. You can either follow the directions HERE or you can ask the post office for assistance. When you are filling out the custom form please remember to do this: The lower right hand corner of the form has a box (#10) titled “If non-deliverable” please check the “Redirect to address below:” box and write in “Chaplain.” This is so the box does not get returned to you.
Once you have 150 items collected, or more, please email tunes4thetroops@hotmail.com. Someone will reply to you and provide you with an address to ship to. At that time you will be provided with an address to send to.
