How did Tunes 4 the Troops begin?
Tunes 4 the Troops was started by 15 year old Kaylee Marie Radzyminski during the Summer of 2005. She attended a Sea Cadet camp in Pensacola, Florida. Being on a military base she had the opportunity to speak with some troops that had just returned home. One of the things that they mentioned was the lack of entertainment. This thought traveled with Kaylee Marie for the next few months until she came up with an idea. She was going to send her CD collection to the troops. She told her friends what she was doing and they donated their CDs and DVDs. Shortly after that this idea spread to her school (Cleveland High School), Community, State, Nation, and now it is even an International Project. Now that Kaylee Marie is attending Tennessee Tech University they have offered to continue the mission of Tunes 4 the Troops in order to provide much needed entertainment to the troops serving our country.
Who is in charge of Tunes for the Troops now?
The University Service Center at Tennessee Tech has taken over Tunes 4 the Troops. Throughout the year there are dedicated students, faculty, and staff that give Tunes 4 the Troops their full attention.

If you have or would like to purchase iTUNES gift cards you more than welcome to send them overseas to the troops. Many of the troops have iPODS that they would like to fill with their favorite music. If they did not get a specific CD/DVD in their box, they can get it with your donation.

If you would like to send a game system overseas please feel free to do so. I recommend using a flat rate box for this.
How much does it cost to ship?
The cheapest way to ship the CDs/DVDs is media mail at the United States Postal Service. For example, a box of 150 items will only cost about $15. This rate is the same whether you ship overseas or within the United States. With this rate you can only ship media related Items. You may think that the flat rate boxes are a better way to go for the CDs/DVDs, but I promise IT IS NOT. If you are shipping a game system I would recommend a flat rate box.
What if I can’t afford to ship my items?
The media mail rate at the United States Postal Service makes shipping affordable to most everyone. If you are unable to ship you items contact a local VA hospital or base near you. They may accept your donation.
